Ingredients
Serves 6
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 large onion (peeled and finely diced)
2 tsp of chili powder
1 cup barbecue sauce (your preference)
6 slices of Mozzarella cheese
salt & pepper
Step by Step Preparation:
Pour the first 5 ingredients in a bowl, mix well. With a plastic wrap, cover the bowl and refrigerate for about an hour.
Turn on the electric griddle. Let it heat up. Divide the meat into 6 even portions. Roll each portion with hands until creating a large ball. With your hands, flatten until getting a round hamburger patty.
Place the hamburger patties on your electric griddle and let cook until brown on both sides (for 15 minutes).
Top each burger with a slice of Mozzarella cheese. Meanwhile, lightly toast your buns on the other side of the grill.
*A regular non-electric griddle can also be used for this recipe and may require a longer cooking time.
